The Bi-Fold Top Cover Upgrade
We're going to switch gears this week and talk about one type of cart upgrade.
If you've never looked into it, the KC-30 and -35 & the MC-10, -20, -25, and -30 can all be upgraded to the bi-fold top cover. We're going to focus on the MC-10 Single Mixer Cart as an example today.
The bi-fold top cover is a customer favorite for three reasons. First, it's convenient to have the top cover folded up right in front of you if you need to shield the electronics quickly. (With the bi-fold cover, you need only store the back cover underneath the cart.)
Secondly, and my personal favorite, the bi-fold top can be tented. That means you can protect your mixer or synth screens from the sun while still using them.
Lastly, the additional shelf space proved by the open bi-fold top is incredibly handy. When the cart is closed shelf items have to be stored away, but during a practice or a performance the additional space can be used for anything.
The one and only downfall to the bi-fold top cover is the loss of the 1.5" square tube accessory bar that comes standard on enclosed carts... but now you've got that extra shelf so you hardly miss it!
